Wondering if anyone can help in getting a PCI dual parallel port card working under a 2.4.20.adeos kernel. The card is to be used within a system we are building to provide an interrupt to a user program via pin 10 (ack signal line). A kernel module driver and associated signal handling user code has been written and works fine using the standard parallel port. I have changed the IRQ and base address within the kernel driver, hoping this would do the trick for the PCI card. The kernel module loads fine but when a TTL signal is applied to the PCI’s parallel port with the user code running and waiting for an interrupt, the kernel dies.

The IRQ number and base address for the PCI card have been extracted using lspci, the IRQ number is only used with the PCI card. I’m not sure which of the 6 memory addresses is the base address so have tried 9800 and ac00.

'lspci -v' shows the card as:

Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 18
I/O ports at 9800 [size=8]

I/O ports at ac00 [size=16]

All help greatly appreciated.
