Linux Knowledge Base and Tutorial FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Category: Main -> Submitting Other Material

·  Can I help in other ways?
·  Can I make monetary contributions?
·  Can I provide other kinds of information to the Tutorial?
·  Does the Tutorial participate in any affiliate programs?

·  Can I help in other ways?

Of course! I can always use as much help on this site as you are willing to give me. Anything from corrections and additions to complete articles are always welcome. There are also number of open projects and I can use all of the help I can get.

You can also help by supporting other projects that have helped me. For example, you can support the Quanta Plus Web Development Environment or PHPNuke.

You can also help by supporting our sponsors. If you are looking for some great Web hosting, check out ImageLinkUSA. At first you might think that their prices are higher than other Web hosters. The reason why the others are so cheap is that they "oversell" their servers. That is, there are more Web sites using the servers than the machines can handle. Like airlines that oversell tickets, it means that someone has to wait. Often, that someone is you. I want to make sure that my site is accessible to my visitors (you!) and therefore I am willing to pay a little extra to make sure that happens. Also, the folks at ImageLinkUSA provide fantastic tech support. So, if you interested in a Web hoster that is more interested in ensuring that your site is accessable than giving you disk space you will never use, then check out ImageLinkUSA and tell them I sent you.

If you are looking for inexpensive Linux CDs, check out OS Heaven. They offer a wide range of distributions at a fair price. Save yourself the time and hassle of downloading and burning yourself. Order a set today!

·  Can I make monetary contributions?

Monetary contributions are most welcome, as well. However, I will not keep any monetary contributions, but will immediately donate it to the Jessie Arbogast Medical Fund.

·  Can I provide other kinds of information to the Tutorial?

Certainly! You can definitely help by providing WebLinks or News. You can also help by contributing to the forums.

·  Does the Tutorial participate in any affiliate programs?

Yes. I am trying to do my best to keep the site free and there are a number of ways you can help out. Based on the comments from a number of people, I have decided not to implement a subscription system (at least for now). You can help keep this site free by doing a number of things. The simplest way to help support us by visiting the advertisers in the "Ads by Google" (i.e. click the link).

You can also help by joining Safari Books Online and staying a member for two months. Now when you sign up for Safari through the Linux Knowledge Base and Tutorial you can access the electronic versions of thousands of technical books and support the Linux Knowledge Base and Tutorial at the same time. Try Safari FREE for 14 days, but be sure to click through here so we can earn a referral fee! If we can earn enough through referal fees of this kind, then there would be no need to start a subscription service and any new feature would be available to everyone!

We also participate in the Amazon.Com affiliates program.
